Raising chickens is both easy and “green.” Chickens are among the easiest, most forgiving, creatures for a small farm to manage.

Join U of I specialists Ken Koelkebeck and Pam Utterback to learn the basics on Wednesday, August 29. This workshop will be beneficial for both the seasoned and new poultry raisers.

The morning workshop will be at U of I Extension, Grundy County, 4004 N Division, Morris, Ill., from 9 am to noon.

For further information contact U of I Extension, Grundy County, at 815-942-2725, check its website, or contact James Theuri at 815-933-8337 or [email protected].

The evening workshop will be from 6 to 9 p.m. at U of I Extension, Ogle County office, 421 W. Pine, Oregon, Ill. For further information, contact U of I Extension, Ogle County, at 815-732-2191, check its website, or contact Ellen Phillips at [email protected] or 815-732-2191.

The fee for participation is $10 per person ($5 for each additional person from the same homestead) and includes light refreshments. Pre-registration and fee is required by August 27.
