Owing to its competitive price and quality, demand for Ukrainian eggs is growing, Mr Prysyazhnyuk said.

"Ukraine's egg production has been following an upward trend for more than a year. As a result, we are able to increase exports. We have already established relationships with nearly 20 countries to supply eggs," said the Minister.

In the first of 2013, Ukraine's households and farms produced 10.1 billion eggs.

According to the Minister, egg companies and households increased egg production by 5.2 per cent and 2.4 per cent respectively.
