The decision was taken in a meeting held in Lahore on Tuesday (17 December), under the chairmanship of Commissioner Lahore Division Rashid Mehmood Langrial.

In accordance with the direction of the Punjab government, Chairman of the Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA) Raza Mehmmod Khasand assured that chicken would be available at a reduced rate of Rs10 per kg in 141 Sahulat Bazars across Punjab, while eggs would be available at the reduced rate of Rs.12 per dozen, as compared to the open market.

Mr Langrial said that as a result of reduction in poultry and chicken rates in Sahulat bazaars, the districts where there is negligible production of poultry would also benefit.

He said that the PPA would set up stalls throughout Punjab, with the assistance of the District Administration, where poultry and eggs would be available at reduced rates than the open market.
