More Avian Flu Reported in Southern Nigeria

NIGERIA - There have been six more outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza in southern Nigeria.

The outbreaks were of the H5N1 serotype and affected layers of different ages in the Rivers and Abia areas.

Over 2700 birds died and 10,552 birds have been destroyed, out of 13,300 susceptible birds across the six farms.
