Reports from Indian newspaper The Hindu say that the fifty teams were formed by the district administration in Bidar, Karnataka.

Various meetings have been held with public organisations and poultry farmers to ensure measures can be put into place in the event of further outbreaks.

District Collector V. Dakshinamoorthy urged caution and said poultry farmers should make sure building and equipment were properly cleaned to eliminate the virus.

“Farm owners should step-up vigil of potential source of infection and officials should monitor it,” he was reported as saying.
