Key Points
UK broiler chick placings were slightly higher than January 2010 at 84 million birds and UK turkey placings were 16 per cent higher than January 2010 at 1.3 million birds.
UK broiler slaughterings were 2.9 per cent lower than January 2010 at 76 million birds.
UK turkey slaughterings were 2.8 per cent lower than January 2010 at 1.6 million birds.
UK poultry meat production was 141 thousand tonnes, 1.5 per cent lower than in January 2010.
