Poultry workers toss out union

CALIFORNIA - After 35 years as a union plant, workers at the Foster Poultry Farms chicken and turkey processing complex have decided to go it alone. Unhappy with a union-negotiated contract proposal, they voted 1,608 to 494 last week to oust the United Food and Commercial Workers Union.
