Avian Influenza and Newcastle Disease Contingency Plan - UK - The Avian Influenza and Newcastle Disease (England and Wales) Order 2003 extended to these diseases some of the powers introduced for Foot and Mouth Disease by the Animal Health Act 2002.
Section 18 of the Animal Health Act 2002 requires that organisations representative of those with an interest in the arrangements be consulted on national contingency plans.
The attached consultation paper seeks your views on Defra's draft Avian Influenza and Newcastle Disease Contingency Plan.
The closing date for responses is 20 February 2004.
