Poultry Industry's Report Explores Positive Impact on Delaware

DELAWARE - After battling the bird flu in Delmarva chickens last year, the region's poultry industry has bounced back to rank seventh in the nation for pounds of meat produced. The Delmarva Poultry Industry also has released 2004 data showing its positive force on Delaware farmers and the employment rate in Sussex County. According to the report, the industry pays about $617 million to local farmers to feed chickens and pays its 14,000 workers more than $337 million dollars in salaries.
