Slaughterhouse to close

THE NETHERLANDS - A turkey company in the Netherlands will close one of its processing plants.

Poultry processor Plukon Royale Groep, part of the Cebeco cooperative, will close its turkey slaughterhouse in Boxmeer, the Netherlands. The closure forced on the company by competition from Eastern Europe is expected to take place by this summer.

The company is now setting up a redundancy plan for the 85 employees in Boxmeer.
