ALABAMA - The biggest single Parent Stock delivery Aviagen has ever made took place at the beginning of March 2005, when 220,000 Ross 308 females arrived at Mach Drubez a.s. Smirice parent farm in the Czech Republic. Around six times larger than the average delivery, the chicks originated from both Aviagen's UK hatcheries.

Biggest Ever Delivery of 220,000 Ross 308 Parent Stock - ALABAMA - The biggest single Parent Stock delivery Aviagen has ever made took place at the beginning of March 2005, when 220,000 Ross 308 females arrived at Mach Drubez a.s. Smirice parent farm in the Czech Republic. Around six times larger than the average delivery, the chicks originated from both Aviagen's UK hatcheries.

Mach Drubez a.s. are the largest independent hatchery in the Czech Republic, supplying broiler chicks to producers across the country and for export, mainly to Slovakia and Poland. The company has made considerable investment in their business over the last few years and allocates 70% of their annual requirement as Ross 308.

Company owner, Jiri Mach, was delighted with Aviagen's ability to supply such a large order. "If we are to achieve optimum performance then a flock of this size tests both our management competence and the infrastructure of the farm to the full. Our ability to control biosecurity and to manage the flock is complemented by only having a single age site."

Tyark Osterndorff, General Manager of Aviagen's Eastern European Business Unit, commented:"The logistics and planning of this delivery tested our systems to the full. Its success demonstrates our ability to meet our customer's needs and supply a first class product and service, no matter what the size of the order".

The flock technical service support will be covered by the Aviagen Central Europe customer focus team members Vlada Zima, Nick Spencely and Johnathan Harrison. They will ensure that all aspects of the production chain within the Mach operation will receive Aviagen's support; the team will also ensure that the flock meets Ross production targets.
