Since the launch of its enhanced product portfolio, Hybro has enjoyed significant growth in sales due the increasing demand for and interest in the Hybro products. The company is heading for a 35 per cent growth in sales this year and expects to maintain that same growth level in the years to come. To be able to answer to this increase in sales the company needed to extend its hatching capacity for the production of parent stock and will therefore start hatching in Brockhagen, Germany.
The reason for choosing production locations outside The Netherlands is simple. "The key focus for Hybro has been to indemnify ourselves and our customers as much as possible against disease challenges in the future," says general manager Richard Maatman, "and spreading the risk by establishing production locations outside The Netherlands was one of the main actions in this respect."
"Besides establishing a pure line and GGP breeding site in Brazil, we have also improved the spread of production within Europe, so that in Europe today, we have production facilities in The Netherlands, Denmark and Germany."
"This way, we can assure our customers an unbroken supply of GPS and PS flocks and by choosing neighbouring countries within Europe, we have retained the ability to manage logistics most cost-efficiently."
