Macedonian Veterinary Inspectorate confirms no case of bird flu in Macedonia - MACEDONIA - Macedonian Veterinary Inspectorate said on Sunday that there was no case of bird flu in the country, after several domestic birds were found dead in a village on Saturday, local media reported.

After receiving the reports of the cases of domestic birds' diseases taking place at the village of Mogila in Bitola, southern Macedonia, the Veterinary Inspectorate got samples of the dead birds and operated an inspection, the Macedonian Information Agency (MIA) reported.

Basing on its preliminary analysis, the Veterinary Inspectorate believed that the birds did not die of bird flu, while the further confirmed results were expected in two days, the MIA said.

The cases might be caused by other kinds of poultry's diseases that had occurred before in the village, local residents were quoted by the MIA as saying.
