Bird flu anti-bodies found in migratory ducks in Tomsk region

RUSSIA - Anti-bodies of the H5N1 bird flu virus have been found in 16 migratory ducks killed in the Tomsk region.

The regional veterinary laboratory has examined 4,681 birds, including 2,080 from poultry farms and 1,799 from private holdings, Viktor Loshchinkin, head of the regional emergency situations committee told Interfax.

"The presence of anti-bodies in 16 wild ducks should not provide grounds for concerns, however," Loshchinkin said.
