Variety of poultry up for auction

AUSTRALIA - Fancy a feathered friend or a Christmas turkey? Choose from about 2000 poultry for sale at the Euroa Showgrounds on June 4.

About 2000 birds will be for sale at the Euroa Poultry Club's third auction for the year. Albury auctioneer Braham Metry said backyard chooks to show champions would be on offer.

"Birds will come from as far as Tasmania and north of Sydney," Mr Metry said. "We have an average of about 2000 birds plus incubators and poultry equipment.

"You'll find anything from your average common chook to quite rare chooks such as painted turkeys, Malays, speckled Sussex and Polish.
