Oz Farmers Blast Anti-Terror Laws

AUSTRALIA - Farmers say moves by the Federal Government to restrict the use of everyday farm chemicals and fertilisers are anti-terrorism tactics spinning out of control.

Their comments come after a Federal Government draft plan leaked to the Victorian Farmers Federation revealed more than 50 products would be restricted.

It is believed the chemicals and fertilisers have been divided into three groups according to potential risk, with some products requiring farmers to undergo ASIO and police checks, obtain special licenses and keep meticulous records.

One of the '‘tier one" products is 1080, commonly used for killing foxes.
