Information received on 17 and 22 November 2006 from Dr Leif Denneberg, Chief Veterinary Officer, Swedish Board of Agriculture, Jönköping:
Report date: 22 November 2006.
Reason for immediate notification: re-occurrence of a listed disease in a zone following a report declaring the outbreak(s) ended.
Identification of agent: avian paramyxovirus type 1 (APMV1).
Date of first confirmation of the event: 16 November 2006.
Date of start of the event: 15 November 2006.
Clinical disease: yes.
Nature of diagnosis: laboratory.

Description of affected population: the affected establishment has two houses with 3 flocks with a total of 32,400 layer poultry.

Other details/comments: all poultry were killed and immediately sent for destruction from 16 to 19 November 2006. Preliminary disinfection of the last emptied house was concluded on 21 November 2006.
