Poultry meat accounted for 25.8 per cent of total Lithuanian meat production last year. An official from the Putnu Fabrika Kekava poultry producer said that poultry meat is now the cheapest meat type in Lithuania.

Because of growing demand, the company launched a new poultry slaughterhouse in 2006 that has facilitated a significant increase in its poultry production.
