The bird flu outbreak hit the company's profits

The Uniq plant in Driffield has been in difficulty since foreign supplies were hit by January's outbreak of bird flu and it lost a Burger King contract.

The factory has now been sold to a subsidiary of the Grampian Country Foods Group for £11.8m.

The division makes breaded chicken and turkey meals.

Uniq announced it was selling its poultry business in February.
