Ukrainian Food Group to Build Turkey Meat Plant.
UKRAINE - The Ukrainian Food Group Ltd. (Chernivtsi region) is planning to construct a plant in the Chernivtsi region to process the turkey meat it produces at its farm there, reports Baltic Business News.
The company's director general, Volodymyr Dutchak, said that the plant will be built at a location three kilometres from the farm. Dutchak added that land has already been allocated for the plant, and that the company is now evaluating financing for the project.
Construction costs are expected to total around USD20 million, with financing expected to come in the form of loans.
The Ukrainian Food Group Ltd. is also building a mixed fodder factory and a slaughterhouse, in order to create a closed production cycle ending with the production of ready turkey products, said Dutchak.
The company's six turkey farms produced around 1,500 tons of turkey meat last year.
