The fourteen head Ishida CCW-RS-214W-S/30-WP is handling both IQF (individually quick frozen) and chilled pre-cooked chicken pieces, packed into bags. Target weights range from 100g to 10kg at speeds of between 5 and 80 wpm.

Prior to the installation of the Ishida weigher, product for the larger pack sizes above 2.5kg was weighed and packed by hand. As well as speeding up the process and greatly reducing giveaway, the weigher has also enabled the introduction of the smaller pack sizes. Changeovers between different weights can be carried out at the touch of button from pre-set targets on the remote control unit.

The weigher’s waterproof construction allows fast and easy cleaning of the machine. Embossed contact surfaces and double opening hoppers ensure that the product moves easily throughout the weigher without sticking to the sides.

The installation was carried out by Ishida’s Belgian agent BRN, who had already supplied Ishida equipment to Europa Cuisson’s Temse factory. In this instance, the Ishida weigher was part of a line also including a hydraulic bulk tipper, specifically designed to minimise product loss. The product is taken out of the hopper by an auger. A second auger elevates the product to 4,5 meters high on top of the weigher.

“We have always been pleased with the high levels of service and in particular the fast response BRN provides,” comments Jean Maté of Europa Cuisson.

“This latest installation also demonstrates the superiority of Ishida equipment and its ability to meet our requirements in terms of speed, accuracy and overall product quality.”
