Meet Paul, the New Vice President at US Poultry

ATLANTA - The U.S. Poultry & Egg Association has announced the addition of Paul Pressley as vice president, Poultry & Egg Institute. He will provide overall strategic management for the institute.

He will also be responsible for developing and implementing industry-specific human resources and employee education/training programs, risk management programs designed to identify and reduce risks to thze industry in terms of property loss and employee safety and retention, and programs designed to assess and document the industry’s personnel needs. Additionally, USPOULTRY’s seminar program, led by Barbara Davis, director, education programs, will report to Pressley.

“Paul’s extensive knowledge of the poultry industry, coupled with his experience in reducing risk via employee education and training, makes him a uniquely qualified individual to lead the new Poultry & Egg Institute,” said USPOULTRY President John Starkey. “Paul’s leadership will be essential in establishing successful educational and training programs at the Poultry & Egg Institute that serve our industry’s needs.”

Paul Pressley is a graduate of North Carolina State University where he earned a bachelor of science degree in engineering operations. He also earned a master’s of business administration degree from Georgia State University. Professionally, Pressley served as the director of risk management and insurance for Gold Kist in Atlanta, Ga., for 22 years.

“The U.S. Poultry & Egg Association has a long history of providing timely and useful educational tools for the industry through programs such as its seminar program. We’re excited for the opportunity to take the association’s vision for the Poultry & Egg Institute and, with industry input, develop and implement additional industry-specifi c education, training and resources programs to improve operations and help our companies identify and reduce loss exposures. We want USPOULTRY, through its Poultry & Egg Institute, to continue to be the fi rst place the industry turns to meet its education and training needs,” said Pressley.

Paul Pressley is designated as a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), and Associate in Risk Management (ARM). He is also past chairman of the board of directors for the Georgia Self Insurer’s Association, and past chapter president of the Risk and Insurance Management Society.
