MVP Hooks up with Indonesian Poultry Company
GLOBAL - Vaccine manufacturer, Malaysian Vaccines and Pharmaceuticals Sdn Bhd (MVP) has signed an agreement with Indonesian poultry company, P.T. Agrinusa Unggul Jaya to distribute 10 million ringgit (MYR) worth of selected vaccine products for poultry farms in Indonesia over the next three years.MVP's Chief Executive Officer, Zaharuddin Zabri said this is a milestone achievement for the company as well as the research and development community in Malaysia, since the company was established in 1992, reports Bernama.
"Our technology is based on research carried out by Veterinary Research Institute in Ipoh, Universiti Putra Malaysia and Australian-based Arthur Wedster Pte. Ltd," he said in a statement.
The company has also been nominated for the upcoming Anugerah Inovasi 2008.
The company, which has two plants in Bangi and Puchong, is planning to expand aggressively overseas. Currently, their products are exported to fifteen countries, mainly in the Asean region and Africa.
The company, whose current turnover is between MYR 6-7 million, has been experiencing 10 percent growth annually for the past five years.
Mr Zaharuddin said that MVP will also be injecting another MYR 5 million next year to expand its production capacity to cope with the bigger demand, resulting from its expansion into overseas market.
"We have achieved our maximum capacity of 900 million doses per annum for the two plants," he said.
Among the products produced by MVP are MyVAC Fowl Pox Live Vaccine, MyVAC NDV4HR, MyVAC IBD V877, MyVAC 102 Live Vaccione, MyVAC 202 Live Vaccine and MyVAC K811.
With the new agreement signed at the Intrade Malaysia 2008, a new product, MyVAC IBD UPM93 Vaccine, has been added into the list of products marketed by Agrinusa Unggul Jaya in Indonesia.
MVP is among the 366 companies taking part at INTRADE Malaysia 2008 which is being held at the Matrade Exhibition and Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur from November 13-16.
