Meatingplace reports that McDonald's will be highlighted in NCC's second quarterly "Showcase of Chicken." The feature is designed to provide special recognition to foodservice providers who are committed to adding innovative chicken products to their menu lineups.

"McDonald's has expanded its menu from three chicken items before 2004 to 10 items today," said George Watts, president of NCC.

McDonald's wide range of chicken items includes Chicken Selects Premium Chicken Sandwiches, Premium Salads and Snack Wraps. In May, the chain launched the Southern Style Chicken Biscuit to great success.

The showcase features an interview with two McDonald's executives who give insights into how various chicken recipes were developed for the restaurant.
