International Poultry Event Opens Soon in Lahore

PAKISTAN - The 11th International Poultry Congress and Exhibition will open in Lahore on 7 August.

The International Poultry Congress and Exhibition will commence on 7 August 2009 at a hotel in Lahore, reports The News of Pakistan. The two-day event is expected to be inaugurated by Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Chief Minister of the Punjab.

Khalique Arshad, Chairman Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA) Punjab, Central Chairman of the PPA, Abdul Basit, Adul Haye Mehta, Chief Organizer and former PPA Chairman, Raza Khursand, held a press conference yesterday.

A large number of foreign and local experts on poultry will deliver lectures on the latest techniques and methodologies being practiced in the world. As many as 3,000 people, including poultry farmers, will take part in the congress and exhibition from all over the country.

The chairman of PPA said that about 1.5 million professionals are engaged in the poultry business and about 750,000 tonnes of poultry meat is produced every year.

Talking about the event, the PPA chairman said there would be six sessions during the two-day congress including technical and question-and-answer sessions from national and international experts.
