Collector R. Sudalaikannan has asked poultry owners and those associated with fowl trade to register with the Animal Husbandry Department, according to The Hindu.

In a press release, he said registration will help to prevent spread of diseases from poultry to humans, protect hens and adopt a uniform approach in disease management. Poultry owners and those associated with the trade should compulsorily register with the Department. He has called on feed mills, hatcheries and meat shops to do the same.
