Mark Glavey has over 40 years experience with Cobb and made many of the company's initial visits and customer contacts in the Asian region. He began combining sales and technical service responsibilities, but has concentrated on sales as business there has expanded.

For the past four years, Mark has been responsible for all customers in the region, stretching from China, across South East Asia to Oceania. Cobb Asia is the fastest growing division of Cobb over the past two years, with annual sales growth averaging 20 per cent.

Randy Vardeman, general manager of Cobb Asia, said: "Much of this growth has been created by the network of distributor contacts Mark has developed.

"By working diligently he has converted opportunities to secure new business with companies who traditionally remain closely aligned, and loyal to, existing suppliers."

Mr Glavey has achieved recognition of the commercial value of Cobb breeding stock and the annual increments in genetic performance. As a consequence, revenue and market share in the Asian region has grown steadily.

When asked about the best professional advice, he said: "Sell yourself before you sell your product." And his greatest achievement, he explained, is "establishing the Asian distributor network".
