Talks on imports of US poultry to Russia will continue today (3 March). Federal Consumer Protection Service chief, Gennady Onishchenko, described the negotiations on 2 March as 'rather productive', according to The Moscow Times.

He said: "We have neared our positions even more. We concentrated our discussions on the issues that the US and Russian sides are to resolve."

The Moscow Times also reports that Tyson Foods, the world's largest poultry manufacturer, has said it would reduce its poultry supplies by 10 per cent to Russia, as it was entering new markets and was also increasing supplies to the domestic market.
