Vital Farms of Austin, Texas has been certified as a producer of Certified Humane Raised and Handled® eggs.

Created three years ago, Vital Farms produces pasture raised, organic eggs. Vital owns and operates their south Austin farm on Onion Creek and is also supplied by other farms in Texas and Arkansas. Their model incorporates small, independent producers, and they plan to expand into other regions across the States.

Vital Farms hens live on certified organic pastures. The hen enclosures are rotated every few days in order to provide fresh grass for the hens to eat and allow the just trodden pasture to recover. In addition to grass, the chickens' diets are supplemented with an organic feed that includes GMO-free corn and vitamins. Herbicides, pesticides or other chemicals are not used in either the animal feed or on their pastures.
