The Expo is the annual must-attend event for poultry and feed industry management, and it is the global marketplace for purchasing decision-makers, say the organisers. In 2010, the show attracted 19,000 attendees from all over the United States and 100 other countries. The main attraction was the giant exhibit floor, featuring 800 exhibiting companies displaying the latest technology, equipment, supplies, and services for every segment of poultry and egg production and processing and feed manufacturing.

The 2011 show will feature even more exhibits and a comprehensive line-up of education programmes that will keep industry management up to date on important issues. The International Poultry Scientific Forum is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday. Expo education sessions will begin Tuesday with USPoultry's Hatchery-Breeder Clinic, new for 2011. It is moving from the meeting's traditional July dates to January. The move will allow more hatchery and breeder flock managers to attend the show and see the latest equipment for their operations.

The Animal Agriculture Sustainability Summit and Pet Food Conference also will kick off Tuesday. Other programmes on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will include a special Salmonella and Campylobacter Reduction Conference, the popular Poultry Market Intelligence Forum, USPoultry Industry Education Program, a Feed Manufacturing Education Program, and other issue-specific sessions.

Returning for 2011 after being so well received last year, the 'Members to Atlanta' (M2A) program will waive the registration fee for member firms of USPoultry and AFIA engaged in the production of poultry, egg and feed products. The programme is supported through the sponsorship of elite exhibiting companies. They include Agranco Corp. USA, Alaso, Alltech, Aviagen, Cobb-Vantress, Diamond V Mills, ISI-Incubator Supply, Jamesway, Marel Stork Poultry Processing, Pfizer Poultry Health and Val-Co. M2A is available only through on-line registration.

"We thank these elite exhibiting companies for supporting the M2A programme," said Steve Willardsen, Cargill Value Added Meats, Wichita, Kansas, and USPoultry chairman. "It played an important role increasing attendance and contributing to the success of the 2010 Expo. We expect M2A to be even better utilized this year and continue to add excitement through the involvement of these key sponsors."

USPoultry and the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau are teaming up again to promote FeatherFest. Participating local restaurants will compete for the 'Best Of', with menu categories featuring poultry and egg dishes. Many Atlanta restaurants will also be offering specials and discounts during IPE week.

Pre-registration for the 2011 Expo is available on-line only – US$40. On-site registration will be $60 – no cheques, no refunds and no substitutions.

The following credit cards are accepted: Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. A Western Union money order, payable in US funds, is the only form of payment accepted from West Africa, Nigeria and Pakistan.

Funds raised at the Expo are reinvested into the industry in the form of research, education, communication and technical services.
