New Web Site Helps Consumers with Egg Cookery

Creating the perfect boiled egg tops the list of common cooking disasters, with six out of ten people saying their eggs crack when boiling and four out of ten unable to get the timing right, while a quarter of people struggle to poach eggs and 45 per cent say their fried eggs or omelettes stick to the pan.

Egg gadgets are already one of the fastest-growing areas in kitchen accessories, with egg cups, poachers and prickers already in the UK’s top ten selling kitchen items. Budding cooks will have a one-stop shop for a range of egg-related gadgets, from eggcessories.co.uk.

Eggcessories.co.uk brings together products to help with boiling, poaching, microwaving and more. And with gadgets such as the egg clacker, mini pan and egg spatula, colour-changing egg timer, silicone poaching pods and microwave-proof egg boilers all under £10, shoppers will not need to shell out for their favourite gadget.

A marketing campaign is underway to generate widespread awareness of the initiative.

Andrew Parker, Chairman of the British Egg Industry Council, said: “Britain has fallen in love with the egg again in recent years and this new web site is the perfect way to promote the versatility, ease and convenience of eggs. We believe that consumers will be scrambling for the gadgets on offer!”
