US Egg Products Report – November 2011

US - Shell eggs broken totalled 174 million dozen during October 2011, one per cent down from the same month last year, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) in their monthly Egg Products report for November 2011.

Shell eggs broken totalled 174 million dozen during October 2011, down 1 per cent from October a year ago, and 1 per cent below the 176 million broken last month.

During calendar year 2011 through October, shell eggs broken totalled 1,741 million dozen, up 1 per cent from the comparable period in 2010. To date, cumulative total edible product from eggs broken in 2011 was 2,254 million pounds, up slightly from 2010.

Data presented in this report were compiled from Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) inspection reports. The best available data at the time of publication were used.

Both October 2010 and October 2011 contained 21 weekdays (including 1 holiday) and 5 Saturdays.
