AMI 2011 Meat and Poultry Facts Now Available
US - The 2011 edition of AMI's Meat and Poultry Facts, the industry's leading statistical book, is now available. The 40th edition of this popular resource contains the latest statistics on production, consumption, prices, imports, exports, employment, wages and much more. The book was compiled by John Nalivka, president of Sterling Marketing, Inc.
Nalivka noted in his introduction that in 2011 the meat and livestock industry saw a sharp increase in US meat export business, pointing to new trade agreements with Korea, Panama and Colombia, as well as an increase in age of imported US beef permitted in Japan, as contributors to the increase.
Mr Nalivka did point out, however, that as the US meat and poultry industry enters 2012, the challenges will not lessen and, in fact, will become greater as cattle supplies and beef production continues to decline.
"Consolidation, global demand and currencies will be increasingly the watchwords of the industry during 2012," Mr Nalivka predicts.
The complete 2011 edition of Meat and Poultry Facts can be purchased from AMI’s online bookstore.
The regular price is $20 for AMI members and $40 for non-members. For additional information, or contact Jessica Mosley, AMI program manager of awards and education at [email protected] or 202-587-4252.
