IPC Annual Meeting Set for Brazil in August

BRAZIL - José Graziano, director general of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN, Dr Francisco Turra, president of the Brazilian Poultry Producers and Exporters Association (UBABEF), and José Arana, CEO of Tyson de Mexico, will be among the main speakers at the upcoming annual meeting of the International Poultry Council.

The IPC will meet 8-10 August at the Tivoli Resort near Salvador, in the Brazilian state of Bahia. The meeting will immediately follow the XXIV World’s Poultry Congress, set for 5-9 August also in Salvador.

Other confirmed speakers include Adriaan Weststrate of Rabobank and André Nassar of the Institute for International Trade Negotiations.

Members of the IPC will engage in a discussion of various global poultry issues during the meeting. Also, members of the respective IPC member countries will give status updates of the poultry industries in their home countries.

The IPC is also scheduled to present its annual branded marketing award for the year’s best marketing campaign for an individual company’s product. Past recipients of this award include Rainbow Chicken of South Africa and Baiada Poultry of Australia.

The OIE, FAO and Codex have officially recognized the IPC as the organization representing the global industry. More than 25 countries are represented in the IPC’s membership.
