Newcastle Disease Outbreak in Romania
ROMANIA - A new outbreak of Newcastle disease has been reported to the OIE.

By: The outbreak was reported by Dr Niculae Lazar, General Sanitary Veterinary Directorate, National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority (NSVFSA) in Bucharest, Romania.
The outbreak occurred in a backyard flock in Zarnesti, Tohanu Vechi in the region of Brasov.
In total, there were 216 cases, resulting in 212 deaths, with 533 birds susceptible. As a result, 105 birds were destroyed.
The cause of the outbreak is unknown.
