ISA is the world's leading breeder of brown and white egg layers, which thrive in both traditional and alternative production systems and in different climatic conditions. The company is committed to supporting egg producers around the world with making a profitable business.

Furthermore, ISA Hendrix is driven to make egg production more sustainable so that future generations can continue to enjoy egg consumption. To summarise, its ambition can be put in three simple words: Eggs, Earth, Earnings.

In order to fulfill its ambition, ISA has embarked on a mission to breed layers that are capable of laying 500 first quality eggs per hen housed in 100 weeks of age. This not only allows egg producers to make higher returns on flock investments, but at the same time puts less pressure on Earth's resources.

ISA is set to achieve this mission through continuous improvement of the lay persistence across a prolonged production cycle, without compromising on egg quality or daily feed intake. The progress that the company makes each year gives it great confidence that the mission is well within reach.

Apart from breeding, ISA produces and sells parent stock to approximately 300 distributors around the world. The parent stock of different pure lines are crossed by distributors to produce and sell laying hens to thousands of egg producers under the brand names, Isa, Babcock, Shaver, Hisex, Bovans and Dekalb.

ISA employs around 400 people of many different nationalities and with expertise in the fields of genetics, animal husbandry, hatchery, nutrition, veterinary science and business. Its headquarters is located in Boxmeer, the Netherlands, and is part of the multi-species breeding company, Hendrix Genetics.
