Moy Park Invests £6 Million in Training

UK - UK food company Moy Park has announced a major £6 million investment in a new training and skills development initiative supported by Invest Northern Ireland.

The investment will deliver leadership and management training, skills development in teamwork, problem solving and structured approaches to improvement as well as initiatives to support further advances in innovation, service, productivity and the application of IT systems.

The initiative has received almost £1.5 million support from Invest Northern Ireland as part of its Skills Growth Programme.

Nigel Dunlop, Moy Park Chief Executive said: "Through this significant investment in training, we aim to improve competitiveness and profitability and deliver more innovation through high performing people and great teamwork so that we can continue to grow in the UK and international markets.

"Our objective is to be the most effective, efficient and safe organisation of our kind in Europe through the skills and commitment of everyone in Moy Park. Invest NI's support has been vital in enabling us to take forward this ambitious training programme."

Moy Park, whose headquarters are in Northern Ireland, employs 10,500 people across 14 production sites in the UK and Europe. The training and skills development programme will be implemented across the Group.

Moy Park HR Director Mike Mullan said: "As a major employer this new initiative is designed to further enhance our capability and support Moy Park on a journey to delivering a world-class workforce - based on our foundation of great teamwork."
