Seminar Examines Impact of Healthcare Reform

US - The 2013 Human Resources Seminar will take a close look at government healthcare reform and how the changes could impact employer-provided health coverage within the poultry and egg industry.

Sponsored by US Poultry & Egg Association, the annual seminar was developed by an industry committee of experienced and knowledgeable human resource managers. It will be held on 22 to 24 April at the Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort in Destin, Florida.

"With national healthcare changes going into effect this year, human resource professionals need to be prepared to address the effects these changes will have on their company's healthcare and health and wellness programme.

With escalating healthcare costs in mind, this year's seminar will include a general health-care reform update, in addition to a session on health and wellness programme best practices," said committee chairman, George Crawford of Koch Foods.

The programme agenda will include the following topics:

  • Washington Review
  • OSHA Update; Employment Law/HIPPA/ADA/OFFCP Audit Survival
  • Health and Wellness Program Best Practices
  • Motivating Your Team Members and
  • Healthcare Reform Update

among other important topics.

A series of roundtable workshops are also part of the agenda, covering topics such as I-9 Training, Six Sigma/Lean HR, HR/Hiring Best Practices, Employment Law and more.
