Pig, Broiler Production Costs Drop to Lowest Level in April
BRAZIL - The production costs of broilers and pigs, according to data provided by Embrapa Swine and Poultry Concordia (SC), fell 4.12 per cent and 0.17 per cent respectively, in April.

The cost of production of broilers went down 20.33 per cent compared to a year ago. The drop was mainly driven by lower spending on poultry feed (-21.11 per cent in 2013).
The cost of pig production has dropped by 14.23 per cent during the first four months of 2013, also reflecting a decrease in spending on animal feed (-15.43 per cent).
