Poultry Feed Product Prices Drop

INDIA - Following a continuous fall in soyameal prices over the past few days, rates of poultry feed products decreased by Rs 25-80 for a 50-kg bag, on Saturday.

Low input cost has pulled the poultry feed prices down, said Subhash Sharma, Financial Head, Sarvottam Poultry Feed Supply Centre Pvt Ltd.

Prices of soyameal coupled with other ingredients have dropped over the last few days, he said.

Fall in soya-meal is the prime reason behind the fall in cost of production and feed prices are likely to rule around current levels for the next days, said Mr Sharma.

The Hindu Business Line reports that in the physical market, Soya-meal moved further down by Rs 1,600 and sold at Rs 29,700 a tonne.

Bajra improved by Rs 40 to Rs 1,300 a quintal, Di-calcium phosphate dropped by 10 paisa and was at Rs 34.70 a kg; MBM sold at 33 a kg while Maize dropped by Rs 30 to Rs 1,410-1,530 a quintal.

Mustard De-oiled Cake dropped by Rs 500 and sold at Rs 13,500 a tonne, DRB went further down by Rs 200 to Rs 10,000 a tonne while Rice bran oil ruled at 54 a kg, remained unchanged.

Prices of Broiler concentrate feed dropped by Rs 80 and quoted at Rs 1,970 for a 50-kg bag while Broiler Starter Mash was at Rs 1,510, Rs 40 down from previous level.

Pre-lay mash eased by Rs 25 and sold at Rs 1,015 for a 50-kg bag, while layer grower mash quoted at Rs 955 for a 50-kg bag, Rs 25 down.

"Layer concentrate 25 per cent" and layer concentrate 35 per cent dropped by Rs 25 each and sold at Rs 1,465 for a 50-kg bag and at Rs 1,150 for a 50-kg bag, respectively.

Meanwhile, reduced off-take coupled with easy availability pulled poultry products down on Saturday.

Broiler dropped by Rs 8 and quoted at Rs 60-62 a kg, Egg eased by 20 paisa and sold at Rs 2.70, while Chick went for Rs 10-11, Rs 5 down from previous levels.

According to the market experts, demand for poultry products is low in the region and products may continue to rule range bound for the next few days.
