Antibiotics Workshop Scheduled for IPPE

US - The International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) is announcing a workshop on 'Antibiotic Use in the Meat and Poultry Industry' at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia, from 8am to 12pm on 29 January 2014.

The workshop is sponsored by The American Meat Institute, and the registration fee is $150 per attendee.

The workshop will include sessions on the CDC Antibiotics Resistance Report, 'Principles of Judicious Use of Antibiotics in the Livestock and Poultry Industry', 'Antibiotic Resistance in Veterinary Medicine' and 'Perspectives and Marketing of Consumers and Antibiotic Use'. Featured speakers will include Randall Singer, DVM, PhD, associate professor of epidemiology from the University of Minnesota, and Danette Amstein, principal for Midan Marketing.

In addition to the workshop on antibiotic use, IPPE is offering a free educational session on traceability featuring Philip Crandall, PhD, professor, University of Arkansas, and Brian D. Adam, PhD, professor, Oklahoma State University. The workshop will cover traceability best practices and new technology.
