Sleaford Standard reports that the application from the Germany-based FKB Ltd went before the authority’s planning committee this afternoon, along with linked plans it has for an anaerobic digestion facility.

The scheme would be sited on land between the A15 and A17 near Leasingham.

Officers had recommended that both application be approved, despite hundreds of objections from members of the public.

However, members voted overwhelmingly against the application for the poultry farm on ground of visual impact.

Councillors voted to defer a decision on the anaerobic digestion facility to allow for a transport plan to be produced.
