Manager of Société Cidape Retires
FRANCE - Christophe Vinchon, owner and manager of Société Cidape, Petersime’s distributor for France and French-speaking Africa, will retire on 30 September 2014.After 30 years at the head of the company, Mr Vinchon is to pass on the torch to his daughter Alice Vinchon and his partner Christophe Boucault.
Cidape and Petersime: parallel histories
The history of Petersime is also the history of Cidape. The two companies have grown and developed hand in hand for more than 60 years.
Back in 1930, Henri Vinchon, Christophe’s grandfather, started a poultry farm and built a hatchery with Buckeye incubators. A few years later he purchased another brand of incubator, a “Petersime”, manufactured in the USA. The hatchability was fantastic: a 10 per cent improvement. Soon, Henri Vinchon equipped the entire hatchery with Petersime incubators and at the same time became the exclusive agent of Petersime for France and French speaking Africa.
In 1948, Henri Vinchon obtained a licence to manufacture incubators, and his son Jean-Pierre became responsible for the production.
In 1964, an agreement was concluded between Jean-Pierre and Georges Bohez to cooperate, stating that the production of incubators would be concentrated in the Petersime factory in Olsene in Belgium. At the same time, a new company named Cidape was created. Cidape became the distributor of all Petersime equipment destined for France and French speaking Africa.
Christophe Vinchon, a long and successful career
In 1984 Christophe, Jean-Pierre’s son, took over the management of Cidape. He substantially extended his father’s network, visiting hundreds of customers in Algeria, France, Morocco, Tunisia, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Congo, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Mauretania, Senegal, Togo and even Mauritius and New Caledonia. By helping them to build or extend a hatchery and providing them with long-term service, he became a very well-known personality in the French speaking poultry world, and the reference for incubation equipment in this area.
Future guaranteed
This year, 2014, exactly 30 years later, Mr Vinchon retires, leaving his daughter Alice and Christophe Boucault in charge to continue the success of Cidape. This way, customers in France and in Africa will continue to receive the same excellent commercial and technical support as always before.
Mr Vinchon will stay available as an advisor to the new team to make sure that his experience, contacts and friendship with hundreds of people in the hatchery industry are not lost but gradually transferred to the next generation.
Petersime sincerely thanks Mr Vinchon for the years of fruitful cooperation, wishing him many more happy years to come.
