Novus International, Inc., in its dedicated efforts to provide sustainable solutions to animal protein producers, recently hosted the Novus Breeder Forum in Rayong, Thailand to discuss the importance of proper nutritional management for poultry breeders.

The forum included discussions from industry experts focusing on a variety of topics ranging from egg shell and chick quality to layer genetics and optimal management for layer-type breeders. The company’s longstanding dedication to animal research and service to the industry was also highlighted at the event.

The forum had a strong participation from all attendees who shared their knowledge and experience of animal nutrition. An overarching message at the event was that optimal nutrition translates into optimal breeder performance, which can be accomplished by supplementing animal diets with highly bioavailable nutrients, a significant advantage for poultry producers.

Dr S.P. Vinil, Regional Marketing Manager, APEC, of Novus International, commented: “Poultry producers are well aware of the critical importance of proper nutrition in maximising animal health and productivity. What may be less obvious, however, is the contribution of chelated trace minerals to such vital traits as hatchability and chick quality.”

A trial comparing the MINTREX chelated trace minerals feeding program with an inorganic trace mineral feeding program showed improved egg shell quality late in lay, enhanced progeny development and improved egg hatchability.

Multiple factors affect poultry operations, and Novus brings many years of expertise to help evaluate industry practices and offer sustainable solutions to producers. The company is dedicated to enhancing nutrition programmes for the broiler, layer and breeder segments.

As a leader in innovation and research, Novus will continue to provide value-added services to the industry beyond the business relationship with a reflection to its vision “to help feed the world affordable, wholesome food and achieve a higher quality of life”.
