More Avian Flu Outbreaks in Southern Cote d'Ivoire

COTE D'IVOIRE - There have been six more outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza in Cote d'Ivoire.

The outbreaks were of the H5N1 serotype, and occurred in the Abidjan region.

19 birds died in the outbreaks, out of a total of 5200 susceptible birds.

The farms affected included three layer units, two broiler units and one facility holding unspecified chickens.
