US - Pizza Hut restaurants have become the latest in the list of retailers and food-service providers to take chicken treated with antibiotics important to human medicine off the menu.

The restaurant also pledged to remove BHA/BHT from all meats by end of July 2016 and artificial preservatives from cheese by end of March 2017.

The timeline for ending the use of chicken treated with important antibiotics is the end of March 2017. The company's statement did not provide details about how this would be achieved.

“We believe that Pizza Hut food shouldn’t only taste great, but you should feel great about it, too,” said Jeff Fox, chief brand and concept officer, Pizza Hut.

“Our enhanced and expanded commitment to superior restaurant-quality food is the result of listening closely to our customers, and they say that these are things that they do not want in their pizzas."
