Ross 140 and 400 Clubs on the Rise in Lebanon

Both Ross Clubs were created to recognize and encourage parent stock and broiler customers who have brought out the best performance in their flocks by demonstrating the highest standards in bird management, hard work and dedication. Membership requires excellence in stockmanship, demonstrating the ability to maximize the genetic potential of Ross premier broiler breeding stock.

Ross 140 Club membership is awarded to customers who have achieved a breeder performance of greater than 140 chicks per hen housed, and 400 Club members have met or exceeded a European Performance Efficiency Factor (EPEF) score of 400. Other factors taken into account are body weight and Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR), a measure of efficiency in converting feed to live body weight.
Hawa Chicken secures first-ever 140 Club entry

Aviagen parent stock customer Hawa Chicken secured its first ever entry into the Ross MEA 140 Club by recording more than 145 chicks at 60 weeks from the majority of its Ross 308 flocks in 2017. The company’s continuous improvement across all levels of production has seen parent stock performance rise consistently year on year. Founded in 1957, Hawa Chicken is a fully integrated poultry company.

“It is a great honor to join the prestigious Ross 140 Club,” said Jalal Hawa. “We owe our successful entry to the teamwork and initiative of our employees. Because of the specific challenges of our environment, Club membership is a particularly ambitious goal. However, we have proven that with meticulous work, the right support and a dedicated team, it is possible to not only meet but exceed the performance objectives.”

Tanmia and Snagro achieve Ross 400 Club

Snagro Poultry earned entry into the Ross 400 Club after two of its contracted broiler farms reached an EPEF of 400 or more with their Ross 308 flocks. Snagro has been in the poultry sector since 2002, operating both in Lebanon and Nigeria and offering high-quality poultry meat from the Ross breed in both countries.

Haissam Nawam, the managing partner of Snagro, said: “The Ross 400 Club is a great initiative and we are thrilled to have two farms achieve the required EPEF score. We owe this success to the Snagro Team and its continued effort to make Snagro a leading poultry producer in the region. Ross has played a big role in our success and has increased our profitability.”

Tanmia was welcomed to the club when two of its own farms also achieved an EPEF score of 400 or more with its Ross 308 flocks. Tanmia, a day-old-chick producer, was founded in Lebanon in 1972. By 1998 it launched its own meat products and became one of the leading chicken processing companies in Lebanon and the Middle East.

Aviagen welcomes new Ross MEA Club members

“We welcome our new MEA Ross 140 and 400 Club members and applaud their accomplishments,” says Ross International Technical Manager Dr. Ibrahim Ibrahim. “These outstanding customers have demonstrated the heights in performance and productivity that are possible through hard work and dedication. Our ongoing goal is to provide our Ross 308 customers with the best-quality products and highest level of support to fortify their continued success.”
