Hipra University holds new courses in Poland

New theoretical and practical courses on necropsy and sampling in IBD held at Hipra University.

On 26th and 27th March, two new sessions of the theoretical and practical courses on necropsy and sampling in Infectious Bursal Disease (IBD), known as HIPRA University, were held for the first time in Poland at the Faculties of Veterinary Medicine at Wrocław University and the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn. These were the seventh and eighth in the series of HIPRA University courses on diagnosis and control of IBD.

The course brought together different leading professionals specialising in poultry production in Poland. The speakers were: Dr Marcin Śmiałek, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Mar Biarnés, Technical director at CESAC (Centre de Sanitat Avícola de Catalunya i Aragó, Spain), Dr Dario Zammerini, HIPRA Corporate Group Product Manager for Gumboro, and Hicham Fathi, HIPRA Regional Technical and Marketing Manager.

The sessions included theoretical and technical aspects of the technique of necropsy in birds, as well as aspects concerning the pathogenesis, epidemiology, control and monitoring programmes and interpretation of diagnostic results in cases of IBD. They were rounded off with practical examples of diagnosis and scheduling of vaccination against these diseases.

The courses are certified by the CPD Certification Service (an independent accreditation organisation) and form part of the HIPRA UNIVERSITY continuing education programme that offers tailor-made training solutions for veterinarians.

With these training courses, HIPRA strengthens its commitment to disease prevention in the poultry industry.
