France's Macron to create new insurance system for farming sector

French President Emmanuel Macron said the government would set up a new insurance system for the country's farming sector.

Reuters Macron said the goal is to help the country’s farming sector deal with hits caused by extreme weather, such as floods or droughts.

Macron added, in a message posted on his Twitter account, that France would set aside 600 million euros ($709 million) a year to finance this new insurance system.
