The European Commission has approved €2.7 million (20 million HRK) Croatian scheme to support companies active in the poultry sector who were negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The scheme was approved under the EU’s State Aid Temporary Framework.

Under the scheme, the poultry processors and egg producers can use direct grants to address part of the losses they suffered due to COVID-19 lockdowns and other public health measures. The scheme will be open to companies of all sizes active in Croatia as registered poultry slaughterhouses or primary producers of eggs.

The amount of aid per beneficiary will be calculated based on the increase in the number of frozen poultry during the years 2019 and 2020 or the number of eggs produced during the period between 1 April and 31 December 2020.
